YOUR LIFE A-Z: XEROSERE

CREATIVITY IN THE STARKNESS OF ENVIRONMENTS

XEROSERE

“X” words are becoming my favorite because I learn so much.  XEROSERE is especially exciting because it speaks to me of the synchronicity of random events.  After I wrote about water, I typed in “words that start with X” into my browser.  I hardly know what any of them mean and this one seemed interesting so I clicked on its definition. “XEROSERE is plant succession which is limited by water availability.”  I am certain that the science of XEROSERE is deeper than where I am going with this blog but think about the difference between a rock and forest.  The succession of plant stages go from bare rocks to climax stage.  Such is your emotional life.  Emotions are stages and more we are tossed around in turbulent waters of our life the more we grow.  Our stages mirror that of our environment.  We even use a vocabulary that is similar to XEROSERE.  Often time we will say someone is barren of emotional connection, meaning their emotional landscape is void of expression, zeal, and depth.  It is natural to want to connect with people who have well developed emotions by moving past the rock to moss stage and are in the herb, shrub, tree, or climax stage.  The climax state of XEROSERE is a strong community stage of a forest, which has banned together from the many trees that make it up the community.  The healthier you are emotionally the more developed the XEROSERE of your emotional life.  Be sure to let the water of your emotions allow you to grow strong and tall. Forest or rocks, created a community.

YOUR LIFE A-Z:LUSH

LET YOUR COLORS SHINE TODAY

LUSH

Do something today to make your environment LUSH.  As Merriam Webster says: “be lavishly productive.” You are the KINGFISH of your life.  Yesterday you discarded, tossed, and deleted unnecessary chatter in your life.  Today spice up you life with accents that highlight your heart. Add flowers, music, candles, and light to your space.  Be colorful in your clothes and add a special touch to your hair. Smile.  Bring the outside in to the inside of your life.  Create in ways that make your life feel fertile with expectation of change. JUMP into your life in a new way today, exploring the abundance of your blessings and gratitude, and allowing new opportunities to flourish by nurturing them.  Fertilize areas that need attention so that they can be all that you want them to be.  Dance, sing, make today count in LUSH ways that make your feel like, “Oh, yeah.  I want to be here now.  I like my self and my space.  I enjoy being alive this moment.”  This is soLUSH that I want to drink in every moment of now.  We once had someone tell us that if we tossed some green around our house that we would highlight our art.  They were right.  We finally understood what those fake green plants at department stores were for.  What can you do today to jump in and add some LUSH to your life?  Brighten up and smile.

YOUR LIFE A-Z XYLEM

Nutrients Can Not Be Viewed by the Naked Eye, But So Necessary

XYLEM
Probably not many of us remember this important word from our biology class, however I was delighted to find a useable "X" word for the TWENTY MINUTE COACH, A-Z.  Xylem transports water and soluble mineral nutrients from their tiny roots up into the rest of the plant.  The tension created between the water and xylem draws the water upward into the plant.

This raises the important interpersonal question of where are your roots planted and how is your soul getting water in order for it to flourish?  If we do not do something to feed ourselves the necessary nutrients to live a life that is meaningful to us, we will dry up and die.  If we are living only for the next episode of Dancing with the Stars, we might want to check our pulse to see if we are still alive.  Dancing with the Stars is great entertainment and relaxing, but it is not the xylem that pulls the nutrients from the ground into our roots and up into our soul.

What are you doing to feed your soul?  What do you do on a daily basis to enrich your life?  If you don't have a daily spiritual or emotional enriching practice, find something.  It can be reading something inspirational.  For instance, I enjoy Pema Chodron's writings.  Or it can be a meditation, prayer practice or yoga.  But before this month is over find something that will be your Xylem, pulling those nutrients and water deep into your soul.
