YOUR LIFE A-Z: TWEAK

IF THE SUNSET WAS THE SAME EVERYDAY IT WOULD BE BORING
EACH DAY IT IS TWEAKED TO KEEP YOU INTERESTED
TWEAK
This is a valuable word for moving your life forward.  It is time to TWEAK the direction or orientation of your process. By now you know enough about where you are headed to know if you want to stay on this same path or if you need to TWEAK the direction a bit.  In the beginning you started with three goals and I asked you to choose one to work with for the first thirty days.  Now it is almost ninety days into the process and it is time to re-evaluate where you are and how you want to move forward from here.  How do you think you are doing?  If you were to write yourself a performance evaluation, what would it say?  Go back and look at your three goals.  Do they still fill you excitement and enthusiasm to move toward them?  What are the things that you need to tweak to make those goals exciting to you again? Remember if you don’t have an emotional buy-in you are going to frustrate yourself and sabotage your plan.  So now is the time to tweak it.  Maybe you want to chuck it completely?  I am going to ask you not to chuck it out for at least the next thirty days.  Just TWEAK it.  Change it.  Re-write it.  Add additional steps to help you see your success.  Get outside resources to help you past your stuck place.  Re-write what is not working and re-focus on the benefits of achieving your goals.  This ship can get to homeport with a little TWEAKING in the navigation department.

YOUR LIFE A-Z: ADVENTURE

MOON LIGHT MAKES ALL ADVENTURES A BIT MYSTERIOUS

ADVENTURE

Warriors are always looking for an adventure because they are always in training to be the best they can be.  In order for them to be on guard, focused and alert, adventure is important to their daily life.  Life is an adventure and the more we enjoy the daily grind the more we can create enthusiasm in our daily life.  Adventures create psychological arousal allowing the brain to get out of its box and explore options and possibilities.  However, a key component of any adventure is that the outcome is not guaranteed and often unknown.  If one is going to skydive, you do everything that you are supposed to do to prepare, from checking out the reputation of the company to following the instructions in your pre-flight.  Tandem is absolutely a must for new divers, but there are unusual things that can go wrong.  No guarantees.  But if you really allow yourself to break out of your denial, there is no guarantee that you are going to be alive by 6:00 p.m. this evening regardless of how safe you live your life. There are no guarantees.  Therefore, stay out of that box of yours, be a little zany and take a risk today.  What adventure do you want?  A vacation to an exotic place? A new hike that you have not explored yet?  Create a new dish for dinner.  Be adventurous regardless of what limitations you think you have; discover the gusto of life by making it a daily adventure.

YOUR LIFE A-Z ACTION

LET THE INSIDE OUT. CELEBRATE WHO YOU ARE.

ACTION
We have been at the twenty-minute coach for twenty-seven days now.   We are twenty-seven days into the New Year and I know what you are thinking, “What happened to all of those New Year’s resolutions?”    In order for us to accomplish anything, “action” is required.  Take a deep breath.  Now, focus on your breathing and count ten breaths, slowing inhaling and slowly exhaling. Next write down the first action words that comes to your mind that you want to accomplish this year.  Notice how you feel about that action word.  Is it true?  Do you really want to __________________?   If not, chuck the word.  No half-hearted goals for this year.   Choose to focus only on goals in which you have a vested interest.  If you choose something that you should do, you are going to fail, so stop setting yourself up for failure.  Choose an action word that brings you excitement.  Now go and do it.
