YOUR LIFE A-Z:ADVENT

Purple, Pink, White are Important Colors of Royalty at this Time
ADVENT

Now, don’t skip this important word if you think it only applies to birth of Christ. Yes, it is true ADVENT is a very important word for Christians during the Christmas holiday.  ADVENT starts on the fourth Sunday before December 25. In the western church it is a time of anticipation, celebration, and remembrance of the birth of Christ and Christ’s second coming.  It is time full of celebration, festive worship, inspiring music and colors of purple and blue.  However, the word ADVENT means the arrival of a notable person, event, or thing.  This is the perfect time to speak about your personal ADVENT.  IT IS TIME TO SHOW UP FOR YOUR OWN LIFE.   Begin to plan, anticipate, and celebrate your ADVENT, your second coming.  IF you are feeling that life has passed you by or has become too difficult then there is no better time than now to plan a personal ADVENT.  Show up and be born again with the zeal to live a quality and meaningful life.  You are the only person that can make this so.  No one else can live your life for you and no one else can make you happy.  It is time to stop waiting with painful pregnancy pains and to give birth to your life the way you want it.  ADVENT is a time of preparation for birth.  ADVENT is a time in the darkness of winter that you focus on the stars in the sky and stop complaining about being born in a stable.  Get on with it. Birth yourself and celebrate the ADVENT (coming) of the next chapter of your existence.

YOUR LIFE A-Z:ZOOM

INNER BEAUTY IS VIEWED BY A ZOOM LENS
ZOOM

No surprise that ZOOM follows the word velocity.  Simple definition of the word ZOOM is to move quickly, to move upward quickly, and to increase speed suddenly.  Using a ZOOM lens in photography allows the photographer to bring a distant object into sharp clarity.   If you use a computer you know that ZOOM is also a tool on your tool bar that allows you to focus on words by making them larger.  In each of these scenarios it is important to use ZOOM in your daily life. If your goal has become too distant, ZOOM in on it and make your goal clear and defined.  If you have slowed down in your progress toward your goal, ZOOM in on it by quickly re-instating its importance.  Re-enforce your goal with ZOOM energy that increases your likelihood of success.  Move upward in your life by ZOOMING in on what you want.  Maybe you need to be myopic for a while, meaning single focused, not allowing anything to get between you and your goal.  Myopic vision is what happens when the photographer ZOOMS in on a picture.  No longer is the viewer able to see the big picture, but the viewer is able to see the beauty of the rose petal with a drop of morning dew on it.  Both pictures are beautiful in their own way.  Enlarging the picture allows you to bring the entire picture into focus, but ZOOMING in allows you to see the microcosmic beauty.  Both are necessary to enjoy fully the moment. Do not be afraid to ZOOM in.

YOUR LIFE A-Z:YOUTH

ALWAYS RETURN TO YOUR YOUTH
YOUTH

It is a common saying that, “Youth has its privileges.” What does that mean to you?  When you were young immortality was not just a concept, immortality was the reality in how most of you lived your life.  Death was not your constant advisor.  As a result you took more risk, had more adventure, and enjoyed the push of adrenaline.  As age creeps upon on you, you come to understand that immortality is a myth and that mortality lurks around the corner.  However, to live captive to the taskmaster of mortality is not fun.   Allow yourself some of YOUTH’S flexibility and spontaneity.  All is not over until the fat lady sings and if she is not singing let the presence of YOUTH sweep you under its hypnotic trance and dance you off into the sunset.  Ask yourself this question, “What have I stopped doing in my life that I really want to do?”  Do you not do it because you think you are too old or because you are afraid?  Wrestle with the reality of your thoughts?  What makes you belief you are too old?  Are those beliefs valid or are those beliefs fear based?  Are you afraid to take the risk?  If so, what do you need to do to overcome your fear, in order to let the adventure of YOUTH have its way with you.  Living in fear is a prison system.  Letting your inner YOUTH help you escape your self-imposed prison system is vital.  Make friends with your inner-YOUTH today and start living your life as if you mean it.  There is plenty of time to get old.  You do not need to start today.

YOUR LIFE A-Z:XENIUM

XENIUM

LET THE STRESS GO!

XENIUM is a compulsory gift.  By compulsory, I mean it is a required gift.  It is customary for gifts to be purchased and given, especially to ambassadors and Heads of State.   This custom started in ancient Greece and travelled throughout Europe, becoming an international unwritten requirement.  During holiday seasons, weddings, and birthday celebrations the common folk have adapted the XENIUM rules of gift giving. Most of us have participated in the compulsory gift practice of XENIUM. There are two ways for us to explore the phenomena of XENIUM.  First, it is important to acknowledge the truth.  Some gifts must be given.  XENIUM is an important practice in family dynamics. Sometimes XENIUM is important in the work place environment. By intentionally choosing not to practice XENIUM, you are choosing to make your life more difficult.  What is important for you to figure out is:  Who needs to be on your XENIUM list?  Who are the Heads of State in your family system?  Mother in laws, like it or not, require XENIUM gifts.  However, gifts to all of your friends, acquaintances, colleagues, and all of your family members are not XENIUMS.  What gifts falls into the category of an XENIUM and what gifts fall into the category of should is important to know.  Use this holiday season to drop your should gifts and to honor your Heads of State in your family system. Don’t let your critical monkey-mind run-a-muck, get clear within yourself and then gift accordingly.  What XENIUM practices will make your life less stressful?

YOUR LIFE A-Z: WHAT

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

WHAT?

WHAT do you really want? WHAT is a very important question that you must learn to sit with until you reach the clarity of an answer and develop vision for your life.  The word WHAT seems simple enough until you allow yourself to really answer this important question. WHAT do you really want? The TWENTY-MINUTE coach has talked about the important word WHY.  It might be important to go back and re-read that word while contemplating WHAT it is that your really want.  Sometimes if you do not take the time to examine why you want what you want, then the word WHAT becomes an invisible task- master, causing you to fret and worry about not getting something that you really didn’t want in the first place.  Knowing yourself and understanding that the “WHAT’S” in your life are important to you then increases your velocity to move toward your stated goal.  If your goal is lukewarm and birthed out of a should then your velocity to obtain your WHAT will remain at a slower speed than you need to change.   As you think about the WHAT in your life, it may be very helpful to create a vision board that allows you to experience the emotion of moving forward to your goal.  A vision board can help you clarify if you really want your WHAT or not.  Learning to let go of goals that do not serve us is as important and sometimes more important than creating goals in the first place.  WHAT I give you is permission to let go of your underserving WHAT’s in life. This important word WHAT needs to bring your joy.
