YOUR LIFE A-Z: ATTAINABLE

ONE STEP AT A TIME STILL REQUIRES YOU STICK YOUR NECK OUT

ATTAINABLE
ATTAINABLE is something that is achievable and within possibilities. Sometimes you might be keeping yourself miserable because you are a daydreamer verses someone who has realistic goals.  Goals need to be attainable.  Your goals on your list need to be examined.  For instance, if your goal is to live in Costa Rica and you live with someone who hates bugs, tropics, and humidity then you need to ask yourself if you want to break up you relationship in order to move to Costa Rica? Thus, you must ask the cost of your ATTAINING your goal physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially and if you are willing to pay it?  How many things on your goal list are realistic or just something you want to drop into your lap?  Guess what, that is not what is going to happen.  Keep your goals ATTAINABLE.  ATTAINABILITY helps you feel good about who you are and the progress you are making in your life.  For instance if you need to lose 100 pounds, best lose it ten pounds at a time.  Then you feel a sense of pride, success, and motivated to continue.  As you are placing goals on your list, ask yourself how ATTAINABLE are they and when will it be ATTAINED.   Place some easy ATTAINABLE goals throughout your list to keep you moving toward goals that are more difficult to ATTAIN.  What do you want to ATTAIN in the next thirty days?  How will you do that and what do you need to make that goal ATTAINABLE?

YOUR LIFE A-Z: PLAN

YOU NEED A PLAN THEN YOU ADJUST FOR CIRCUMSTANCES

PLAN

It is the experience of the TWENTY-MINUTE COACH that without a PLAN nothing much is accomplished.  Busy in your day-to-day world, sometimes a PLAN does not seem very important because your day is fairly scheduled.  This lack of PLANNING is where life can get tricky because when you are so busy with life’s details you don’t notice life might be just passing you by.  If you flip back to the word focus and observe those eight threads of your life what is your PLAN for each thread?   What in your life needs attention in order to make your idea, dream or goal a reality?  Intentions are nice but they usually go nowhere without a well designed strategic PLAN.   The more detailed your PLAN of action the better you will feel about what you are doing because you are able to see the small steppingstones completed along the way.  When you are not able to observe the small successes along the way discouragement often sets in and you find yourself derailed.  With a written PLAN of action you are able to check off the list of steps accomplished.  PLAN for each thread in your life as well as the stages of your life.  You hear about PLANNING your will, your retirement, and even today we pre-plan our funerals.  Hearing about something and executing a PLAN of action is the difference between living your life and watching your life from the coach of passivity.  Write a PLAN, follow it and tweak it when it needs to be adjusted.

YOUR LIFE A-Z: COURAGE

INTENTION BRINGS COURAGE AND THEN ACTION

COURAGE

There is a debate of how COURAGE and brave are the same and different.  If you look up both words in the dictionary no one really defines the difference.  They seem similar but the Twenty Minute Coach is going to take creative license.  If you go back to yesterday's word, "brave" you will find that I define Brave as taking action even though the situation may be frightening.  I  invite you to think about COURAGE as the internal response and  emotional fortitude to execute the brave action. COURAGE can be cultivated and shaped into a resourceful inner strength that prepares you for difficult and frightening situations.  How do you do that?
First take a realistic look at your life, relationship, health, and job.  What is working for you and what needs to be changed?  Create a plan of change by writing it down.  Then spend ten minutes each day visualizing yourself completing the task on the list.  Next journal what comes up for you as you watch yourself in your minds eye completing the challenges.  Stay with each challenge daily until your anxiety reduces and you can face the challenge with a sense of COURAGE that you have now created inside of yourself.  Feel the sense of a challenge and watch the brave person inside of you complete the challenge.  Stop the stories that you tell yourself about your limitations and just focus on visualizing yourself succeeding. Do this daily until you have enough internal COURAGE to be brave.  The link is below to learn the story of Mary Magdalene in the picture above.

YOUR LIFE A-Z: AIM

SEE MORE BRILLIANTLY BY AIMING YOUR GAZE
AIM
AIM for what you want.  Do not allow yourself a shotgun approach to life where you splatter your daily life in all directions, AIM your life in the direction you want it to go.  Set your target and focus on your intention.  What are you hunting for in your life?  What sends you out early to search for a specific target and hunt for a specific goal?  What is your desired outcome and how will that desired outcome help you live your life in a meaningful way. You do not have to AIM high, but be sure to AIM direct, focusing your eye on your goal.  Once you AIM then it is helpful to stay focused and not let distraction get in the way of your AIM.  Remember shooters go to shooting practice to keep their AIM on target.  A game of darts will teach you that AIM is so important.  AIM for your hearts desire and polish, clean, and practice that AIM on a daily basis.

Think about how you AIM your eyes to see the colors on a small hummingbird.  I suspect you squint because squinting blocks out the peripheral landscape, allowing the eye to AIM right on the beautiful hummingbird.  To AIM for what you want will allow you to see more beautiful and exquisite colors in the world around you.  To AIM for what you want you bet closer to the bulls eye than just picking up the dart and throwing it recklessly at the dart board.  AIM for your dreams.

YOUR LIFE A-Z ANALYSE

ANALYSE
LOOK AND THINK ABOUT YOUR OPTIONSANALYSE

It is April already and you started the year off with the TWENTY MINUTE COACH, desiring change in your life.  It is time to ANALYSE what is working or not working.  To ANALYSE something is to study it carefully and break it down into smaller components to discover and fully understand why, how, and to what extent something is working.  Or perhaps it is to determine what is not working as well as it could be.  Here are some questions to help you break it down into micro-bits and ANALYSE where you are.  Our first word was Aware.  Go back to that word and write a page of what are you really Aware of in your life that needs your attention and care.  From there, ask yourself, how are you going to take the necessary steps to get to where you want to go and do a thorough ANALYSIS of what resources you are going to need to get there.  List your plan step by step.  Set dates as to when the steps will be executed and collect every bit of data you need to see what works and what does not work.  ANALYSE your results and continue from there.  If you are not getting what you need go to twentyminutecoach.com and purchase a package.  New 12 and 18 twenty minute session packages are available at www.twentyminutecoach.com and perhaps it is time to get some help with your target goals and explore in tiny detail, what needs to be Tweaked ANALYSE other areas of your life as well, especially your budget.
