YOUR LIFE A-Z: MULTI-TASK

MULTI-TASK IN A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

MULTI-TASK

There is no better time that now to become proficient in the art of MULTI-TASKING.   To MULTI-TASK is to live in optimal organization in order to squeeze the zest out of life.  As you make your to-do list, (and you are doing that now aren’t you?) think in terms of organizing your list in ways that you can accomplish several things.  What gets done while you are doing laundry?  What three activities can you sweep together into one?  For instance, when doing your taxes it a good time to do a budget review and tweak the budget for next year, making sure there are plenty of dollars saved for that vacation.  In the United States we over-work and under-play.  It is time to reverse that but in order to make a dent in the amount of time and energy we waste each day, it is important to MULTI-TASK.  Organize your day, your week, your month and your year with key MULTI-TASKING actions that keep you moving forward and saving valuable time for playing while MULTI-TASKING your chores.  Think about adding music to the background of your chores to enhance your mood.  Add some humor and laughter into the mix of daily activity to boost your morale.  MULTI-TASKING does not have to be all about hard work, it can be about play too.  If play and laughter are not on your to-do list, it is likely that it won’t happen.  You must plan for it just like you plan for dinner.  It is the balance of MULTI-TASKING that fills your day with positive opportunities.

YOUR LIFE A-Z:ACHIEVE

AN ACHIEVEMENT DURING LIFE'S JOURNEY

ACHIEVE

ACHIEVE is the perfect word to follow yesterday’s zealous.  What does this emotionally loaded word ACHIEVE mean to you?  Does the word ACHIEVE make you feel energized and create that sense of “just do it,” inside of your being?  Or does the word ACHIEVE come with a mother-load of guilt that chides you with messages of,  “you should have had this accomplished by now?”  Either way, it is time to neutralize the emotional impact of this word and get to work ACHIEVING your dreams.  List three major things you want to ACHIEVE.   Ask yourself by what date and time do you want them ACHIEVED?  Then create a plan of action with specific steps as to how you are going to ACHIEVE the stated goals. Do not try to ACHIEVE these three goals at the same time.  Make one of these goals a priority and get to work on it immediately in order to build a sense of accomplishment.  Examine the why of this goal.  What will it mean to you once it is ACHIEVED?  How will your life be different as a result of ACHIEVING this goal?  Is the difference this goal is going to make enough of a reward for you?  To ACHIEVE your goals takes a zealous energy that speaks deep in your heart, not allowing for obstacles to interrupt you.  There are always obstacles along the path to ACHIEVEMENT.  Obstacles create opportunities to make your ACHIEVEMENT more meaningful.  To ACHIEVE is to thrive and to thrive is be filled with an inner sense of personal ACHIEVEMENT. Go for it.

YOUR LIFE A-Z MASTERY

THE PANAMA CANAL - 100 YEARS OF MASTERY

MASTERY

Self- MASTERY is a skill that is necessary to survive childhood with ourself-esteem intact.  If our parents “over-functioned” for us and we could not even tie our shoes so to speak, then it is natural as kids to feel inept.  If our family system neglected us, it is likely that MASTER is something you never really cherished or celebrated.  Today as adults, when you are around a child, the normal thing to do is to clap and praise a child for the most innocuous events, like tying his or her shoe.  That praise helps the child feel confident and eager to try again and even try to perfect their former feat.  Praise builds MASTERY.  Neglect or criticism tears MASTERY down and creates a sense of inner defeat.  We cannot keep blaming our parents for our lack of confidence, self-esteem, or self-worth.  The only person to blame now is our self.  It is never too late to MASTER your life, your skills, or your dreams.  If you keep focusing on what you did not receive, guess what, you still won’t receive it.  So, learn to practice whatever it is that you want to be different in your life until you establish a sense of MASTERY.  MASTERY requires practice, fortitude, and trying again and again until you feel good about your skill level or present situation. MASTERY, being really good at something builds your self-esteem and self-image.  MASTERY of one thing leads to the energy to practice MASTERY with something else.

YOUR LIFE A-Z HONEST

A MUST READ FOR PERSONAL HONESTY

HONEST

In the word Effort I spoke about being HONEST with yourself. The word HONEST is more than not lying, stealing, or cheating.  HONEST implies congruence between ones actions and words and how one actually lives his/her day-to-day life.  When I asked the question are you being HONEST with yourself, it is a bold question inviting you to soul search your motive for your Effort.  Is the Goal you set in the last word, really what you want or is it a “should” imposed on you from your inner judge; society at large; a family member; or friend?  If the Goal is not yours and you are forging ahead with it, I promise you that you will fail or even if you succeed you will not enjoy the positive energy of succeeding.  More than likely you will feel underwhelmed and joyless at your accomplishment.  Why?  Because it was not your Goal.  You achieved it for someone else. They may be ecstatic and joyful for you, but you are thinking, “what’s next, now what do I have to do to win your approval?“  Give yourself permission to be HONEST, very congruent with your GOAL.  If it is not your desire, toss it, at least for now.  Maybe once you give yourself permission to toss it then you will Discover that there is a larger percentage than not that also wants this GOAL.  You will not be able to answer that question with the naked HONEST truth until you give yourself permission to toss that which does not come from your inner most self.

YOUR LIFE A-Z FIT

A GOOD FIT GETS US WHERE WE ARE GOING

FIT

Do you FIT? What does it mean to FIT?  Are you FIT?  Lot’s of questions pop up with this powerful three- letter word.  No wonder it follows Diligence and Effort.  I am sure each of you readers has at least three-five stories about how you feel when you do not FIT in.  In the process of growing up I am sure you found your self in the garden of misFITS more than once.  Ah, but the word garden would imply you are not alone.  Misfits are often the most colorful, productive, and vibrant part of the garden of life.  Just because companies make a size 10, does not mean that everyone FITS into a size 10.  Maybe you are a size one or a size triple X, so what?  You are you.  It takes working with your daily difference in positive kind ways to give yourself permission to FIT in just as you are without having to change one thing.  Also, reframe the word FIT in terms of your physical health.  Often your body weight or your BMI are the only focus of FIT.  But how are your heart, sugar levels, cholesterol, lungs, and muscle groups?  Are they FIT?  Remember what it feels like when you put on your favorite clothes and they fall perfectly, cozy and comfortable on your body.  It feels wonderful.  You want your body to feel that wonderful from the inside out.  It may take some more Diligence and Effort, but take one thing at a time and bring it into the perfect FIT for you.

YOUR LIFE A-Z FOSTER

DON'T MISS THE NUANCES

FOSTER

Yes, today you have full permission to work on the embodiment of your idea, dream, goal, and personal happiness.  What do you need to get it done?  How you cultivate, nurture, and strengthen the reality of your goal? To FOSTER your dream you must spend time with it every day.  FOSTER your dreams by spending time imagining the outcome.  Do not focus so much on what is missing from your dream but the finished picture when you have completely embodied your dream.
For instance, let’s say financial security is one of your goals.  You have to know specifically what that is for you.  After DEFINING it, you need to know the benefits of achieving it. List three benefits on how your life will be changed positively by reaching your financial security.  It is not that your bank account will be flush, but rather what are the personal benefits of being out of debt or having a savings account that will take care of you if something were to happen?  One benefit is an inner sense of security that you don’t have to worry when it is time for tires to be replaced on your car because you have spent time fostering a real financial independence.  FOSTER the outcome of financial security and focus the true benefits of having financial security.  Your life changes by making room for what you want.  Working a budget becomes fun when you see that saving money makes life lighter, brighter, and daily life becomes very pleasantly purposeful!
